The Red Wings’ playoff hopes suffered a blow last night, with a 4-1 loss to the Canadiens. Dylan Larkin gave Detroit an early lead, but the Haps responded with two tallies off Cam Talbot, then added two late empty-netters. The win moved the Habs another step closer to clinching the final Eastern Conference wild card playoff berth. Detroit and the Rangers are each seven standings points behind, with five regular-season games to play.

NBA
The Pistons welcome the Knicks tomorrow night.
The Bucks overcame a 24-point fourth-quarter deficit, and stunned the Timberwolves 110-103 last evening. Playing without Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee got 25 points from Anthony Edwards, and 24 from Donte DiVincenzo. Bobby Portis returned from his 25-game suspension, and had 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bucks entertain the Pelicans tomorrow.
MLB
The Tigers won their fifth straight game yesterday, blanking the Yankees 5-0. Tarik Skubal gave up four hits over six innings to earn his first win of the season. Brant Hurter completed the shutout, allowing two hits over three innings. Detroit took command with three solo home runs in the fourth inning, off the bats of Spencer Torkelson, Zach McKinstry and Dillon Dingler. Kerry Carpenter homered in the fifth.
The Tigers wrap up that home series against the Yankees today. Jack Flaherty will start against Max Fried. Coverage will begin at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
Add two more Tigers to the injured list. Catcher Jake Rogers is sidelined with tightness in his left oblique. Outfielder Manuel Margot has an inflamed left knee. Both have been placed on the 10-day injured list.
Recently-acquired outfielder Brewer Hicklen and journeyman catcher Tomás Nido have been called up to fill in.
A former Tiger has been killed in a nightclub building collapse in the Dominical Republic. Fifty-one-year-old Octavio Dotel was pulled from the rubble after being trapped for hours, but died at the hospital. Dotel was a reliever on the 2012 Detroit team that reached the World Series. An elbow injury the next season ended his career. At least 98 people died in the collapse, and more than 220 were injured.
The Brewers pounded the Rockies 7-1 last night. Freddy Peralta allowed a run on three hits over five innings to get the win. Brice Turang, Christian Yelich and William Contreras homered.
The Brewers continue that set at Colorado tonight. Tyler Alexander will pitch against Antonio Senzatela.
Another Milwaukee pitcher has landed on the injured list. Connor Thomas has an arthritic condition in his elbow.
