
Michigan Technological University has found the institution’s new Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration.
On Friday, Michigan Technological University announced that it would bring on Carlos Rodriguez as the new chief financial officer and vice president of administration. Rodriguez’s appointment by the university follows a multi-month national search to fill the role.
President of the University Rick Koubek says Rodriguez arrives at the institution with a depth of knowledge and experience as a financial expert and will help the university excel as an R1 research institution. Rodriguez recently served as an Associate Vice President for Finance and Business services at Pennsylvania State University.
While at Penn State he was responsible for overseeing 19 undergraduate commonwealth campuses the Penn State Great Valley office and the office of vice president for commonwealth campuses. Before entering higher education he served as a budget director of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Rodriguez says Michigan Tech’s commitment to innovation and excellence in research drove him to pursue a further career in higher education, after finding a passion for aligning student success with strategic financial stewardship.
