From the ice rink to center stage Jeffers High School keeps on winning. Recently students from Jeffers High School joined other western upper peninsula students at Gogebic Community College in Ironwood to compete in the annual Spring High School Quiz Bowl Invitational. Students from Jeffers and Ironwood met in the championship rounds after beating quiz bowl 18 other teams from nine schools. Jeffers High School would come out victorious scoring 320 points to Ironwood’s 280. MTEC SmartZone CEO Dave Rowe, who acted as a judge in this year’s competition, says anytime educators can bring students to a college campus aspiring young people are the winners. Jeffers High School team captain Pearl Raffaelli added it was fun to compete with her teammates and win the school’s first quiz bowl tournament.
