High School
Next week’s Division Three quarterfinal girls basketball game between Calumet and Sanford Meridian has been moved. Originally scheduled for Houghton Lake, it will now be held at Manistique, which is about midway between the two schools. Tip-off will be Tuesday at 7, with coverage beginning at 6:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.

The Forest Park boys’ tournament run ended with a 67-46 loss to defending champion Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian in a Division Four semifinal yesterday. The Trojans end their fine season with a record of 25-3.
Westwood closed its season with a 76-40 Division Three loss to the Arts and Tech Academy of Pontiac.
Kingsford meets Romulus Summit Academy North in a Division Two semifinal this afternoon at 5:30.
College Basketball
The Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan men’s basketball teams will open the NCAA Division II tournament against each other tomorrow. Tip off is at 1:00 in Springfield, Illinois.
The NMU women’s team begins tournament play today at noon against Hillsdale in Allendale.
College Hockey
Two Michigan Tech hockey players have garnered honors from the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. Blake Pietila was named Defensive Defenseman of the Year. He’s leaving the team to join the Penguins organization in the NHL. Elias Jansson was tabbed as the Rookie of the Year. Jansson led the Huskies with 12 goals this season.
The CCHA tournament semifinals will take place tomorrow. Seventh-seed Bemidji State plays at top-seed Minnesota State. Fourth-seed Bowling Green plays at third-seed Saint Thomas. The winners of tomorrow’s games will play for the title a week from tonight.
NHL
The Red Wings visit the Hurricanes tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Pistons fell to the Wizards 129-125 last evening. Cade Cunningham had 38 points and 10 assists. Jalen Duren scored 18 and grabbed 14 rebounds.
The Pistons visit the Thunder tomorrow night. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Bucks pounded the Lakers 126-106 last night. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Damian Lillard had 22 points and 10 assists.
The Bucks host the Pacers tomorrow.
MLB
The Tigers dropped an 8-6 decision to the Yankees yesterday. Jackson Jobe opened with three scoreless innings, but left as New York scored three runs in the fourth. Gleyber Torres homered for Detroit.
The Tigers face the Pirates this evening. Keider Montero will start against Andrew Heaney.
Detroit has purchased the contract of left-handed reliever Bailey Horn from the Cardinals. The Tigers had claimed Horn off waivers from Boston during the offseason, but then designated him for assignment to clear a roster spot for Gleyber Torres.
The Tigers have assigned pitcher Matt Manning to Toledo.
The Brewers pounded the White Sox 9-3 yesterday. Mark Canha and Isaac Collins homered.
The Brewers will play the Giants today. Nestor Cortes will pitch against Jordan Hicks.
