Huskies enjoy giving back to the local community. Throughout the year different events, organizations, and programs encourage Michigan Tech students to join residents to cut wood and visit with a senior. And even serve a meal. On Sunday Let’s Eat Community Meals will enjoy the service of Michigan Tech students with Circle K and Sigma Rho fraternity brothers at the Holy Trinity Church for a meal. This Sunday’s meal for seniors in the community has also been supported by DB Construction. Seniors will enjoy a chicken dinner with cheese quesadillas, corn and apples, and dessert. The meal site will open on Sunday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 4 pm. The Holy Trinity Church is located at 42905 Wilson Memorial Highway/US-41.
Next month Let’s Eat Community Meals will move to April 27th. An error on the organization’s calendar shows a meal site set up during Easter. Let Eat executive director Bill Binroth says the correct date for meals at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will take place on the last Sunday of April.
Over the past 11 years Let’s Eat Community meals has served more than 25,000 plates to seniors in the Houghton and Baraga counties.
