Another Copper Dog winner and another fantastic Copper Dog weekend couldn’t be possible without hundreds of volunteers. Over the weekend Copper Dog featured several fun events. Friday night started with plenty of fresh snow landing on the trails. Then Saturday included teams traveling to Copper Harbor, with families in Calumet to watch and participate in the Copper Pull and Copper Dash. Sunday’s bright blue skies brought the teams home to Calumet. At each event, the race started and along the highway in between volunteers made sure Copper Dog continued a track of safety, and fun for everyone.
To show appreciation for the community and individual efforts to make Copper Dog a great winter weekend in the Keweenaw Peninsula, the Copper Dog board of directors invites volunteers to a volunteer appreciation dinner on March 22nd. The event will include a cash bar served by the Elk’s Club, pulled pork sandwiches, appetizers, and desserts. While at the appreciation event, volunteers can win prizes as the board’s way of saying thank you. Those interested in learning more about the Copper Dog appreciation event at the Elks Club in Calumet on March 22nd starting at 6 pm can find more details here.
