An Iron River man is heading to prison for drug trafficking.
In U.S. District Court late last week, 45-year-old Matthew Joseph Sheehan was sentenced to an 84-month term.
He pleaded guilty in October to a charge of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
Sheehan was arrested in June, 2023, after he was pulled over in Iron County for a traffic violation. Officers found nearly a pound of methamphetamine, a smaller quantity of cocaine and more than $6,000 in cash. A subsequent search of Sheehan’s residence recovered additional drugs and more than $37,000.
