In 2024 Calumet Floral was a recipient of a grant award from the Village of Calumet DDA.
Calumet wants to keep the village’s historic preservation and community looking good into 2025. In the past several years the village of Calumet has worked to reinvigorate the community, even earning the Governor’s State Historic Preservation award in 2023. Recently the Calumet Downtown Development Authority opened its 2025 Small Scale Grant program.
The grants will award funds ranging from 250 to 2500 dollars, and support businesses and organizations improving spaces and the look of the downtown. In 2024 the program awarded 9400 dollars, to eight businesses, supporting over 20,000 dollars in improvements. One recipient was Kitschy Spirit Records. The business was able to install a new outdoor sign, says owner Chris Joutras, which helped attract new customers and highlight a new storefront in the village. Calumet DDA Chairperson Nikki L’Esperance adds that the Small Scale Grant program will continue to create a vibrant and welcoming downtown for residents and visitors.
Businesses within the Village of Calumet downtown development authority district can apply for a grant by visiting the Village of Calumet’s website or asking for a copy at the village office inside the Calumet Theatre.
Calumet will accept grant applications for the 2025 small-scale grant program until March 31st. Find more details here.
