A support group in the community will care for the caregivers of the Copper Country. In two weeks the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation will establish the Caregivers Connections support group to help family caregivers connect with others in the area who share passions and struggles.
Caregivers include individuals assisting their family members or close friends who face challenges related to mental health, behavioral issues, medical conditions, aging, or other needs that require the help of another. Copper Shores program director Brian Rendel says many don’t appreciate the tremendous and selfless assistance that caregivers provide, but caregivers understand the stress and commitments such a role entails.
The first Caregivers Connections program will be set up at the Copper Country Mental Health Institute on February 26th. The group will meet at 6 pm. The support group will be led by a Copper Shores mental health professional and volunteer caregiver. Find more information here.
