
Local community awards recognize the good individuals groups and businesses spread throughout the Copper Country. Next month Keweenaw’s Sparkplug Awards will shine a light on several important projects and incredible people in the community last year’s awards recognized businesses like Frozen Farms and Co., and people like the 2024 youth contributor of the year, Aiden Trathen. KEDA Executive Director Jeff Ratcliffe says spark plugs truly celebrate remarkable accomplishments by the community.
Calumet Electronics expansion or Steelhead or any of those folks, the communities around them, again, those folks get a little bit of recognition as well. Sparkplug Awards will accept category nominations until tomorrow. Anyone interested in nominating an individual or business should complete a nomination form, found on the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce website. There you can also purchase tickets for the March 20th award ceremony on Michigan Tech’s campus.
