
While students build their all-night statues, and groups put the finishing touches on large castles. The St. Albert the Great University Parish will complete the annual Ice Chapel ahead of the Ice Mass.
The ice chapel has gained a large following during winter carnival in past years. Gathering enough people to expand the unique church service opportunity to three masses, and offer a live stream for the Friday evening. The Sow Chapel takes a large crew of volunteers to build the structure that fits more than 500 people inside. Our Lady of the Snows is built each year by students involved with the St Albert the Great Parish and members of the church. Each evening service creates a unique atmosphere. Candlelight twinkles off the glistening and carved walls, while snow gently falls on churchgoers.
Services at Our Lady of the Snows Ice Chapel will begin at 530 pm and 10 pm on Friday and at 10 am on Saturday. Live streamed services will occur during both services on Friday evening.
