Great Lakes Hockey League
The Portage Lake Pioneers will host the MTU Wolfpack ACHA team for a Winter Carnival exhibition tonight. The puck drops at 7 at Dee Stadium.
NHL
The Red Wings blew a late two-goal lead, but recovered to beat the Kracken 5-4 in a shootout last night. Lucas Raymond, Moritz Seider, Jonatan Berggren and Elmer Soderblom scored during regulation. After a scoreless overtime, Patrick Kane netted the only goal in the shootout. It was Kane’s 53rd career shootout goal – a new NHL record.
The Wings have won seven straight, and entertain the Lightning Saturday. Coverage will begin at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
