College Basketball
The Michigan Tech women’s basketball team climbed out of an early hole, and defeated Davenport University 76-66 last night. Janie Tormanen led the Huskies with 22 points.
The Tech men’s team defeated Davenport 77-69. Marcus Tomashek had 32 points, and the Huskies sank 30 free throws.
Both Tech teams host Grand Valley tomorrow – the women at noon, and the men at 2.
The Northern Michigan women’s team fell to top-ranked Grand Valley State 74-48 last evening. Abi Fraaza led the Wildcats with 11 points.
The NMU men’s team outscored the Lakers 79-52. Dylan Keuhl netted 21.
Both NMU squads entertain Davenport tomorrow.
College Hockey
The Michigan Tech hockey team has this weekend off.

NHL
Alex Lyon made 45 saves, as the Red Wings claimed a 3-2 shootout win over the Oilers last night. After Edmonton took a two-goal lead in the opening period, second-period goals by Michael Rasmussen and Dylan Larkin tied the score. Lucas Raymond and Larkin found the net in the shootout.
The Wings visit the Flames tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 9:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Pistons host the Mavericks this evening. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
Detroit star Cade Cunningham has been added to the NBA Eastern Conference All-Star Team. He’s the first Piston to make the squad since Blake Griffin in 2019.
