Baraga County has seen new businesses and reinvigorated commercial spaces in the past year. Now, the Baraga County Chamber of Commerce wants to recognize a local economic driver as Business of the Year. Recently the Chamber of Commerce opened nominations for the area’s Business of the Year award, which will receive a plaque to display proudly for patrons to see, promotion as the business of the year through the chamber’s social media presence, and a complimentary 2025-26 business level membership with the chamber. The Baraga Chamber of Commerce encourages the community to consider how businesses in the region have created positive impacts on the business community, dedicated service to the general community through support of community endeavors and supported the chamber and its members. A Business of the Year builds upon the community’s positive atmosphere and has achieved industry awards or recognition, has shown growth and aspects of a superior business development strategy, as well as exemplifies the spirit of the Baraga County Business of the Year. The Baraga Country Chamber of Commerce will accept business of the year nominations until February 13th. After the chamber collects nominations it will conduct in-person voting at the annual chamber member’s apprication banquet next week. Nominations can be submitted to the chamber by mail or dropped off at 1 N Main Street in L’Anse, PO Box 122 for mail-in submissions.
