James David Proctor age 85 of Pelkie, MI passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse. He was born in Carmi, IL on November 6, 1939 the son of the late Charles and Helen (Dilback) Proctor. James graduated in 1957 from East Detroit High School. He had been employed for Ford Motor Company in Sterling Heights, MI for 30 years before retiring. James moved to the area 25 years ago and was a member of the Ottawa Sportsmen’s Club. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed backpacking, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and especial shooting guns.
James is survived by his loving daughters Liz (Dennis) Dettloff, Janice Bolton, Karen (Michael) Steenland, and Lisa Keelan all of Roseville, MI, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brothers Chuck (Linda) Proctor of Kentucky, Ray (Lynn) Proctor of Colorado, and Randy (Pat) Proctor of MI. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. James was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Kruger, and his former wife Emily Proctor.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Roseville, MI.
