In hockey last night…
- Jeffers upended Houghton 5-1. Brogan Turner scored twice for the Jets, and Tage Rajala, Cullen Larson and Brit Heinonen each found the net once. Benton Rajala had three assists, and Cody Turner had two. Jace DeForge netted the Gremlins’ only goal in the third period. Kasen Helminen made 21 saves to get the win in net for Jeffers. Brycyn Nettel stopped 21 shots for Houghton.

Both Michigan Tech basketball teams play at Lake Superior State tonight.

The MTU volleyball team has added a new player. Julia Fledderjohn is from Commerce Township, Michigan. She’s transferring in from Charleston Southern University, where she has been a defensive specialist for the past three seasons. She will have one season of eligibility remaining.
NHL
The Red Wings welcome the Canadiens tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Pistons opened up an 18-point halftime lead, and held on to beat the Hawks 114-104 last night. Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren each earned double-doubles – Cunningham with 29 points and 11 assists, and Duren with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
The Pistons visit the Magic Saturday evening.
