Nancy Paananen, 77, a resident of Klingville passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at her home following an apparent heart attack.
She was born on December 30, 1947, in Hancock, MI, a daughter of the late Edwin and Gladys (Piggott) Kautto. Nancy was raised in Klingville and was a graduate of the Chassell High School with the class of 1966. She was also a graduate of Soumi College and attended Northern Michigan University.
On September 11, 1971, she was united in marriage to Phillip Paananen. The couple resided in Howell and Fowlerville, MI. During that time Nancy had worked as a housekeeper for various Senior Assisted Living Centers in the Brighton and Howell, MI areas.
On May 19, 2008, Phillip preceded Nancy in death.
Since 2010, Nancy has made her home on the family farm in Klingville.
Mrs. Paananen was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell serving on various committees of the church and enjoyed being a part of the church quilting group. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and attending the senior meals at the Fire Hall.
Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents; her nephew Joey Kautto and her brothers-in-law: Robert Paananen and Peter Paananen.

A funeral service for Nancy will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell with Rev. Soren Schmidt to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 11:00 am until time of services at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell
