The fair might have been a few months ago. But planning starts right away. The Houghton County Fair Board recently shared the 2025 county fair plans are underway.
This year the fair welcomed more than 22,000 people to the Houghton Count Fair Grounds in Hancock. A major area the community explores during the fair includes the exhibitor’s barn which displays more than 2500 exhibits. The various exhibits came from 92 adults and more than 160 youth participants. At the Livestock auction, the program sold 131,000 dollars in beef steers, hogs, and lambs. 117 volunteers helped bring the Houghton county fair to life.
Next year’s county fair will start August 21st and run through the 24th. The Houghton County Fair board plans to bring back the Skerbeck entertainment group to fill out the county fair’s exhilarating rides and fun carnival games. The plans for next year will also include a return of the monster truck throwdown, a Sea Lion SPLASH, the Whispering Pines Mobile Zoo, and more. The fair board hopes to also bring the TNT demolition Derby to the fairgrounds to organize the demolition derby’s return.
