Thomas K. “Tom” Ziebell, age 73 of Skanee, MI passed away at his home on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
Tom was born in Wausau, WI on September 30, 1951 the son of the late Wilbert and Doris (Radke) Ziebell. Tom graduated from Athens High School in 1969. He had been employed in various jobs in his lifetime, but was an entrepreneur at heart as he liked being his own boss. Tom owned Ziebell Door Company, Z-Best Car Wash, Z-Best Storage units, Ziebell Builders all at the same time (He liked projects.) Prior to those he also owned Surewood Forest Campground in Tomahawk, and built homes with his dad.
On June 1, 1996 he married the former Susan “Susie” Koski at Prince of Peace Christian Church in Tomahawk, WI. Tom enjoyed working on any project – at home or for someone else, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, feeding the deer, and traveling to Lake Havasu in Arizona. Tom loved people and belonged to Rib Mountain Bowman’s club, on various softball, dart, horseshoe, and bowling leagues. He loved serving his church and was a confirmation teacher, Sunday school superintendent, and led many building projects at various churches over the years.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Susie Ziebell of Skanee, MI, daughter Julie Ziebell of Green Bay, WI, son Kurt Ziebell of Merrill, WI, stepson Dan (Jessica) Gipp of Merrill, WI, grandchildren Thomas Ziebell, Emma Ziebell, Claire Ziebell, Jacob Ziebell, Jocelynn Pelot, Elaina Gipp, and Kailyn Gipp, brothers Donald (Tina) Ziebell of Mosinee, WI, Lee (Diane) Ziebell of Edgar, WI, sister-in-law Bonnie Ziebell, mother of his children Nancy (Ziebell) Biloff of Watertown WI and very close to our family Jessi (Matt and 3 children) Meis of Stevens Point, WI. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry Ziebell.
A celebration of life will be held at the Merrill Town Hall, W4594 Progress Ave, Merrill, WI 54452 on Saturday, January 4, 2025 with food and fellowship starting at 11:00 a.m. Beginning at 1:00 p.m. there will be a time to honor Tom and share stories and memories.
