Jordan Zimmermann struggled, as the Detroit Tigers lost to the Cleveland Indians 8-1 yesterday. Zimmermann surrendered five runs over three innings. Detroit’s only run came when Leonys Martin scored on a Nicholas Castellanos groundout in the first inning.

The Tigers have today off, and open an interleague series at home against the Cincinnati Reds tomorrow night. Matthew Boyd will start against Homer Bailey. Pregame coverage begins at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

Two of the biggest stars of the Tigers’ 1984 championship team were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame yesterday. Shortstop Alan Trammell and starting pitcher Jack Morris were selected by the Modern Era Committee. They join Chipper Jones, Vladimir Guerrero, Jim Thome and Trevor Hoffman, who were voted in by the baseball writers.

The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the San Francisco Giants 8-5 yesterday. The Crew took an early lead when Ryan Braun slugged a two-run homer in the first inning. The Giants came back with five runs off Junior Guerra in the fourth inning, and another in the fifth. They added three more off Matt Albers and Dan Jennings in the sixth. The Brewers got late solo home runs from Hernán Pérez and Travis Shaw.

The Brewers open a series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles tonight. Freddy Peralta will pitch against Kenta Maeda.
