NHL – Red Wings Snap Losing Streak
The Red Wings scored four times in the third period, and broke their six-game losing streak with a 6-3 victory over the Sabres last night. Tomas Tatar scored two power play goals in that final period for Detroit. Gustav Nyquist had a goal and two assists.

Defenseman Niklas Kronwall left the game in the second period with an upper-body injury. He’ll be evaluated today. Stephen Weiss was forced off the ice in the third period after taking a blow to the jaw. Team officials say he did not suffer a concussion, and should be ready for Saturday’s game against the Senators. Goalie Jimmy Howard also expects to return from his groin injury for that game. Face-off for that contest is at 7:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

NBA – Pistons Prepare for Pacers
The Pistons return to action Friday, when they host the Pacers. Tip-off is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

The Lions and Packers are preparing for Sunday’s game in Green Bay. The winner will claim the NFC North title, and a first-round playoff bye. The loser will open the playoffs as a wild card selection, against the top-seeded NFC team.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers confirmed that he will play on Sunday. Rodgers was hampered by a calf injury during last Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers. The Lions will play without center Dominic Raiola. Yesterday, Raiola’s one-game suspension for stomping on the ankle of Bears’ defensive tackle Ego Ferguson was upheld by the league. Rookie Travis Swanson will fill in.

Five Packers and three Lions were named to the Pro Bowl yesterday. Green Bay will be represented by fullback John Kuhn, linebacker Clay Matthews, wide receiver Jordy Nelson, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and guard Josh Sitton. Detroit will send receiver Calvin Johnson, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, and defensive back Glover Quin.
