The Detroit Red Wings snapped their four-game losing streak with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Buffalo Sabres last night. Gustav Nyquist scored during regulation. He also scored the first of Detroit’s two shootout goals. Thomas Vanek buried the second. Jimmy Howard made 32 saves. The Wings visit Blake Pietila and the New Jersey Devils tomorrow night. The Detroit Pistons also broke a four-game losing streak, defeating the Miami Heat 107-84 last night. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led Detroit with 22 points. Andre Drummond added 18 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and held Miami center Hassan Whiteside to single digits in each category. The Pistons entertain the Los Angeles Clippers tomorrow night.
