The Detroit Red Wings suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers yesterday afternoon. Dylan Larkin scored the Wings’ only goal, and Petr Mrazek made 30 saves. The Detroit Pistons led by eight going into the fourth quarter, but scored just 16 in the final frame and lost 87-83 to the Brooklyn Nets last night. Andre Drummond had 20 points and 18 rebounds. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 21. The Pistons entertain the Houston Rockets tonight.
NFL
In last night’s NFL game, the Denver Broncos scored 17 points in the fourth quarter , and ended the New England Patriots’ perfect season with a 30-24 victory. Tonight, the Baltimore Ravens visit the Cleveland Browns. Kickoff is at 8:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

The Detroit Tigers have reportedly signed starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann. Several media outlets are saying it’s a five-year deal worth 110-million dollars. Zimmerman is 29, and has spent his entire career with the Washington Nationals. He underwent Tommy John surgery five years ago, but has averaged more than 30 starts and nearly 200 innings per season since that. Last year, he was 13-10 with a 3.66 ERA.
