Wings Lose Home Finale – Tuesday Sports Wrap

The high school track and field season begins today, as many local teams take part at the MTU Indoor Invitational.

The Houghton High School baseball team is scheduled to play one game at Florence this afternoon.

NHL

The Red Wings lost to the Stars 6-1 in their final home game of the season last night. David Perron scored Detroit’s only goal late in the second period. Ville Husso gave up three goals on the first five shots he faced, and was replaced midway through the first period by Magnus Hellberg.

The Wings visit the Hurricanes tonight. 

NBA

The NBA Tournament play-in begins tonight…
• In the Eastern Conference, the Hawks visit the Heat.
• In the Western Conference, Lakers host the Timberwolves.

MLB

The Tigers had yesterday off, and visit the Blue Jays tonight. Matt Manning will start against Alek Manoah. Coverage will begin at 7:10 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers collected just three hits, and fell 3-0 to the Diamondbacks last night. Wade Miley took the loss, giving up all three Arizona runs over five innings.

The Brewers visit the Diamondbacks again this evening. Corbin Burnes will start against Merrill Kelly.
