The Red Wings scored three times in the third period, and pulled out a 4-2 victory over the Lightning last night. David Perron netted the game-winner with 2:40 remaining. Patrick Kane and Robby Fabbri scored earlier, and Lucas Raymond added an empty-netter. Alex Lyon made 34 saves.

The win boosted Detroit into a standings point tie with Washington for the final wild card playoff berth, but the Capitals have two games in hand.

The Wings host the Islanders Friday. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons suffered a narrow 110-108 loss to the Grizzlies last evening. Cade Cunningham scored 36 points, but missed a last-second shot that would have forced overtime.

The Pistons visit the Hawks tomorrow.

MLB

The Tigers broke open a scoreless game with five runs in the top of the 10th inning, and blanked the Mets 5-0 last evening. Joey Wendle’s error on Colt Keith’s ground ball toward right field allowed the first Detroit run to score. Javier Báez plated the second with a sacrifice fly. Carson Kelly capped the inning with a three-run homer. Reese Olson pitched into the sixth, and allowed three hits. Four relievers allowed just two more for the rest of the game.

The Tigers visit the Mets again tonight. Casey Mize will face Adrian Houser. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers had yesterday off, and host the Twins in their home opener today. Jakob Junis will start against Louie Varland.

Milwaukee catcher Eric Haase has cleared waivers, and been assigned to Triple-A Nashville.

College Basketball

The final four is set in the NCAA Division I women’s basketball tournament. North Carolina State will face South Carolina in the first semifinal Friday. Connecticut and Iowa will play in the nightcap.
