High School
In girls basketball, the Houghton game scheduled for this afternoon against Gladstone has been postponed. No make-up date has been provided.
The Calumet High School Alumni Hockey Game will be played tonight at 7:00 at the Colosseum. Adult admission is $4.00, and children get in free. Money raised will go toward the Calumet Hockey Association’s capital campaign.

The 51st Great Lakes Invitational Hockey Tournament opens today at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Michigan Tech will face Michigan State this afternoon at 3:30, and Northern Michigan University will take on the University of Michigan tonight at 7:30. The consolation and championship games will take place tomorrow. All of the games will be televised by Fox Sports Detroit.

The Detroit Red Wings lost to the Minnesota Wild 3-1 last night. Pavel Datsyuk scored Detroit’s only goal. Petr Mrazek stopped 34 of 36 shots in the losing effort. The Wings skate at Winnipeg tonight. Faceoff is at 8:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

The Detroit Pistons will face the Knicks in New York tonight.
