The Detroit Tigers had yesterday off, and host the Twins again this afternoon. Anibal Sanchez will start against Ricky Nolasco. Hear the first pitch at 1:08 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.
It’s looking more and more as if Justin Verlander will not be ready to start against Cleveland on Sunday. Verlander has been sidelined with a strained triceps muscle. The Tigers have not placed him on the disabled list, but starter Kyle Lobstein was not introduced at Media Day with the Toledo Hudhens yesterday. The ‘Hens have one extra player on their roster – a situation they must resolve by tomorrow. Lobstein would be the most likely fill-in if Verlander isn’t ready.
The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Colorado Rockies 5-2 last night. Matt Garza took the loss, after giving up four runs on eight hits over five innings. The Brewers wrap up their series against the Rockies in Milwaukee tonight. Wily Peralta will start against Eddie Butler.
