Calumet’s Janie Torola was named Player of the Year, as the Western Peninsula Athletic Conference released its post-season volleyball honors this morning.
Torola’s teammate Clara Loukus was named to the All-Conference First Team. Copper Kings coach Lisa Twardzik was named Coach of the Year for leading Calumet to the league title.
Other members of the first team include Emily Anderson and Kaisa Holmstrom from Hancock… Vivienne Kallio and Sloane Zenner from Houghton… and Erin Angeli from West Iron County.
Members of the Second Team include Anna Johnson and Hailey Wickstrom from Calumet… Mary Jarvis and Ellie Lucier from Hancock… and Taryn Kaurala and Tawna Ryynanen from Houghton.
Honorable mention votes went to Lea Bjorn from Calumet… Skylah Minerick from L’Anse… and Lizzy Pellizzer and Katilee Rhino from West Iron County.
