College Volleyball
Michigan Tech’s Carissa Beyer has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight time. Beyer tallied 73 digs in the Huskies’ three matches at the Midwest Region Crossover last weekend, and was named to the all-tournament team.

The Pistons begin their regular season tonight at home against the Magic. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.

In the American League, the Yankees defeated the Guardians 5-1 to win their Divisional Series 3-2. New York will open the American League Championship Series at Houston tonight.
The Phillies opened the National League Championship Series with a 2-0 victory over the Padres. That series continues this afternoon in San Diego.
NFL
The Packers have claimed tackle Luke Tenuta off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts.
Running
The 5k and 10k Husky Autumn Mountain Run will be held Saturday morning at Mont Ripley. Packet pickup opens at 7:30, and the race begins at 9:00. Proceeds benefit the MTU Military Science Program. For information and online sign-up, click here.
