The Major League Baseball playoffs open tonight when the Baltimore Orioles visit the Toronto Blue Jays for the American League wild card game. The winner will advance to face the Texas Rangers.
NFL
In last night’s NFL game, the Minnesota Vikings defeated the New York Giants 24-10. The surprising Vikings remain unbeaten, and are in first place in the NFC North Division. Houghton Half’n’Dash
The Houghton Half’n’Dash will be held Saturday. The event includes a half marathon and a 5k, both of which will begin at Ray Kestner Waterfront Park. Money raised will benefit DDIY, which provides financial assistance to Copper Country residents facing expenses because of medical issues. The sign-up deadline is Thursday. To register, click here.
