In boys high school basketball action last night, Baraga edged L’Anse 43-41. Austin Smith scored 15 for the Vikings, and Brett Mattson had 12 for the Purple Hornets.

In tonight’s only boys game, Houghton plays at Kingsford.

In girls action tonight…
– Unbeaten Calumet hosts West Iron County. Calumet students will be selling chocolate kisses to raise money for the Keweenaw Health Foundation’s Cancer Fund.
– Houghton entertains Marquette.
– Dollar Bay-Tamarack City plays at Lake Linden-Hubbell.
– Jeffers plays at Ewen-Trout Creek.
– Chassell travels to Watersmeet.
– Ontonagon hosts Bessemer.

In high school hockey tonight…
– Houghton welcomes Marquette.

The Calumet-Hancock JV hockey game scheduled for Sunday morning at 11:30 has been moved to the SDC.

Both Michigan Tech basketball teams entertain Northwood tonight. The women’s game starts at 5:30, and the men’s game at 7:30.

The Detroit Pistons return from the All-Star break tomorrow night, when they play at Washington. Tip-off is at 7:00 on AM 1400 and M 99.3, WCCY.

MLB
Detroit Tigers pitchers and catchers report to spring training in Lakeland, Florida today. They’ll work out for the first time tomorrow. Position players are due in camp on Monday. You’ll hear Tigers games again this season on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
