MLB – Verlander, Martinez Power Tigers
Justin Verlander struck out eight over seven strong innings, as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Chicago White Sox 7-4 yesterday. Verlander gave up three runs on five hits, and hit 99 miles per hour with his fastball in the seventh inning. Victor Martinez hit his 200th career home run. Game details are here.
The Tigers have today off, and begin a home series against the Minnesota Twins tomorrow night. Matt Boyd will start against Mike Pelfrey. Hear the first pitch at 7:08 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
