High School
VolleyballIn the high school volleyball tournament last night…
– In Class B, Houghton eliminated Menominee 3-0. Kingsford defeated Gladstone 3-0. The Gremlins and Flivvers will meet for the district title tomorrow night at 7:00 at Houghton.
– In Class C, Calumet will play at Hancock tonight at 7:00 for the district title.
– In Class D at Ontonagon, Lake Linden-Hubbell ousted Chassell 3-0. Ontonagon blanked Dollar Bay 3-0. The Lakes and Gladiators will play for the district title tomorrow night at 7:00 in Ontonagon.

NHL
The Detroit Red Wings skate at Toronto tomorrow night. Faceoff is at 7:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons play at Phoenix tomorrow night.

NFL

The Detroit Lions will finish the season without DeAndre Levy. The All-Pro linebacker was placed on injured reserve yesterday, because of a hip injury he suffered during training camp.

Try Hockey for Free
Kids can try out hockey at a special clinic on Saturday. The Copper Country Junior Hockey Association Auxiliary is hosting the Try Hockey for Free clinic at 11:00 at the Houghton County Arena. Boys and girls ages four through nine are invited to experience ice hockey for the first time. To register for the session, click here.
