Unbeaten Bolts in Hoops Quarterfinals Tonight – Tuesday Sports Wrap

High School
The Dollar Bay-Tamarack City boys basketball team will face Cedarville in the state tournament Class D quarterfinals tonight. The Blue Bolts are undefeated. The Trojans are 21-3. The game will tip off at 7:00 at Escanaba. Dollar Bay classes will be dismissed at noon today to allow students time to make the trip. $6.00 tickets are being sold today between 9:00 and noon at the school office. There are a limited number of seats available on the fan bus at $25.00 per person. Reservations can be made at the school office first thing this morning, until the bus is full. Finlandia
The Finlandia University baseball team is scheduled to play a doubleheader at Alma College this afternoon.

MTU
The Michigan Tech hockey team’s victory in the recent Western Collegiate Hockey Association tournament has propelled them back into the national rankings. The Huskies are rated 18th in this week’s USCHO.com poll. They will face Notre Dame in the opening round of the NCAA tournament Friday afternoon. The Irish are ranked second in this week’s poll.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons won their first road game in more than two months last night, defeating the Sacramento Kings 106-90. Blake Griffin led Detroit with 26 points. The Pistons will visit the Phoenix Suns tonight. We’ll join the game in progress after Red Wings hockey on 99.3 The Lift.

NHL
The Detroit Red Wings will try to snap their 10-game losing streak when they host the Philadelphia Flyers tonight. Pregame coverage begins at 7:10 on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB
In spring training baseball, the Detroit Tigers lost 4-2 to the Baltimore Orioles yesterday. Michael Fulmer gave up two runs on six hits over five innings. The Tigers will face the New York Yankees this afternoon.

The Tigers have announced that Mike Fiers will miss his next spring start. He’s suffering from back stiffness.

The Milwaukee Brewers had yesterday off, and will take on the Colorado Rockies today.

NFL
Former Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron has signed a two-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts.

Little League
Portage Little League will hold a registration session this evening between 5:30 and 7:30 at Keweenaw Chevrolet. There will be opportunities this season for boys and girls ages 5-16 in baseball, softball, machine pitch and T-ball. Sign up in person tonight, or register online here.
