MLB

The Tigers took two from the Mets yesterday, winning the afternoon game 6-5, and taking the nightcap 8-1. Eric Haase gave Detroit an early lead in the first game, with a three-run homer in the first inning. He then singled home the winning runs in the bottom of the eighth. Javier Báez also homered. In the second game, Detroit batters chased former Tiger Max Scherzer in the fourth inning. He gave up eight hits, including home runs to Haase and Matt Vierling, and was charged with six runs. Michael Lorenzen sparkled for Detroit, tossing seven innings, and allowing a run on four hits.

That series wraps up this afternoon in Detroit. Eduardo Rodriguez will start against former Tiger Justin Verlander. Coverage will begin at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers collected just five hits last night, and fell to the Rockies 7-1. Eric Lauer took the loss, allowing four runs before leaving in the fifth inning.

The Brewers have lost three straight, and visit the Rockies again this afternoon. Wade Miley will start against Connor Seabold.
