The Orioles broke open a close game with eight runs in the eighth inning, and pounded the Tigers 12-3 last night. Baltimore took a quick lead… scoring two runs of Max Scherzer in the first, and another in the second. Detroit kept it close… thanks to back-to-back homers from Victor Martinez and J-D Martinez in the second inning. Baltimore added an insurance run in the seventh. Again, Detroit kept it close, when Miguel Cabrera hit one out in the eighth. That’s when it fell apart, as the Orioles sent 12 men to the plate in the bottom of the inning… scoring at will off Joba Chamberlain, Joakim Soria and Phil Coke.
