Detroit has signed starting pitcher Alex Cobb to a one-year deal. Cobb is 37 years old. He was an All-Star in 2023 with the Giants. Last year, he joined the Guardians, but missed most of the season with hip and shoulder injuries.

The Tigers are also looking at options for first base, after Spencer Torkelson struggled last season. Colt Keith and Justyn-Henry Malloy are working out at that position this winter.
