• At the Hancock Driving Park, A and S Industrial/Loukus Tech plays Pat’s Foods/Bucko’s at 6:15, then takes on Sayen’s Auto/Coca Cola at 7:30.

In Copper Country Fast Pitch Softball play tonight…
• At the Bone Yard in Lake Linden, Northern Michigan Land Brokers plays Crush at 7:00.
• At the Chassell Field, Tervo Agency meets REL at 5:30, and JB’s takes on Superior Service at 7:15.

MLB

The Tigers and Guardians were rained out yesterday. The game will be made up August 15th.

Detroit has sent struggling rookie first baseman Spencer Torkelson down to Toledo. After hitting just .197 in the first half of the season, team officials are hoping he can regain his batting stroke with the Mud Hens.

The Brewers fell behind early, and lost to the Giants 9-5 yesterday. Aaron Ashby and Jason Alexander surrendered seven runs over the first three innings. Willy Adames and Rowdy Tellez homered.

The All-Star break begins today. The Home Run Derby will be staged tonight. The game will be played tomorrow.

Milwaukee starter Corbin Burnes will opt out of the All-Star game because of health issues. Brewers reliever Devin Williams has been named to the team as a late replacement.

The Tigers resume play Thursday with a day-night doubleheader at Oakland.

The Brewers return to the field Friday, when they host the Rockies.

The first round of the Major League Baseball draft was held yesterday. With the 12th overall pick, the Tigers claimed Texas Tech slugger Jace Jung. He’s a left-handed-batting second baseman. The Brewers selected Coastal Carolina shortstop Eric Brown Jr., with the 27th overall pick.
