MLB – Tigers Pound Yankees
J.D. Martinez homered three times, as the Detroit Tigers mauled the New York Yankees 12-4 yesterday. Martinez drove in six runs in his best batting performance ever. Victor Martinez and Andrew Romine also hit home runs. Anibal Sanchez got off to a shaky start, but settled in and gave up three runs over seven innings to earn the win.
The Tigers open a series at Cleveland tonight. Kyle Ryan will pitch against Trevor Bauer. Hear the first pitch at 7:10 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.
The Colorado Rockies routed the Milwaukee Brewers 10-4 yesterday. Matt Garza surrendered 13 hits before leaving in the sixth inning, and was charged with all 10 Colorado runs.
The Brewers have today off, and host the Mets tomorrow night. Mike Fiers will start against Jon Niese.

– At the Hancock Driving Park, Monte Carlo/Coca Cola plays Nutini’s at 6:15, and Goal Post at 7:30.
U.P. All Star Hoops Classic
The North and South teams split the 30th annual U.P. All–Star Classic Basketball Game Saturday. The South won the boys’ contest, 108-88. The North won the girls’ game, 68-62.
