MLB – Tigers Lose Eighth Straight
The Detroit Tigers came within one out of snapping their losing streak last night. With two outs in the ninth, Chicago’s Adam LaRoche homered off Joakim Soria to send the game into extra innings. The White Sox won it 4-3 when Alex Wilson hit Avisail Garcia with a pitch with the bases loaded in the 11th inning. The loss spoiled a good start by Kyle Ryan, who gave up just two runs on three hits over seven innings.
The Tigers continue that series against the White Sox at Chicago tonight. David Price will start against John Danks. Hear the first pitch at 7:15 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.
Starter Justin Verlander will make another rehab start for the Toledo Mud Hens today, with hopes of rejoining the Tigers next week. He’s missed the entire season with a strained biceps.
Adam Lind drove in six runs, as the Milwaukee Brewers pounded the Minnesota Twins 10-5 last night. The Brewers scored five runs in the final two innings to put the game away.
Milwaukee continues that series at Minnesota this afternoon. Matt Garza will start against J.R. Graham.
