MLB
The Detroit Tigers couldn’t hold an early lead, and lost to the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 yesterday. Michael Fulmer allowed just two baserunners over the first five innings, as Detroit built a 2-0 advantage on solo home runs by Jeimer Candelario and Niko Goodrum. Fulmer tired in the sixth, though, as the Reds scored three times on back to back homers. Cincy added single runs in the seventh and eighth to put the game away.
The Tigers have today off, and begin a weekend series at Cleveland tomorrow night. Mike Fiers will pitch against Shane Bieber. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
Detroit has brought reliever Johnny Barbato up from Toledo. He’ll fill in for Drew VerHagen, who broke his nose during Tuesday’s game, and has been placed on the disabled list.
The Milwaukee Brewers’ game at Pittsburgh last night was rained out. It will be made up July 14th. The Brewers entertain the Saint Louis Cardinals tonight. Brent Suter will start against Carlos Martinez.

Casey arrived just in time for the NBA Amateur Draft, which will be held tonight. The Pistons do not have a first-round pick. Their only selection is in the second round, with the 42nd overall pick.
