MLB
The Detroit Tigers lost their 10th straight game to the Cleveland Indians last night, 5-3. Daniel Norris started for Detroit. He worked his way out of a jam in the second inning, allowing just one run, but strained an oblique muscle while trying to field a ground ball. He left the game after walking the first batter in the third inning. Dustin Molleken made his major league debut, allowing that runner to score. Molleken was charged with another run in the fifth. Detroit came back with a Steven Moya solo home run in the fifth inning. A two-run blast by Nick Castellanos in the sixth tied it. Mike Napoli’s two-run shot off Bruce Rondon in the seventh was the game-winner.

Norris has also been placed on the DL with the oblique strain suffered last night. No roster move to replace him has been announced.

Junior Guerra pitched 7-1/3rd scoreless innings, as the Milwaukee Brewers blanked the Washington Nationals 1-0. Guerra struck out seven, and gave up just two hits. Will Smith and Jeremy Jeffress finished the shutout. The game’s only score came on a Martin Maldonado home run off Max Scherzer in the fifth inning.
