MLB

Former Tiger Mark Canha’s sacrifice fly off Shelby Miller in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Giants to a 3-2 victory over Detroit last night. Beau Brieske and Kenta Maeda threw no-hit ball over six innings, while the Tigers built a 2-0 lead. San Francisco tied the game with single runs off Maeda in the seventh and eighth.

The Tigers continue that series at San Francisco this afternoon. With only two healthy starters, Detroit will again employ another bullpen game. Logan Webb will counter for the Giants. Coverage will begin at 3:40 on 99.3 The Lift.

Matt Vierling missed last night’s game, as he continues to deal with back spasms. He’s considered day-to-day. Wenceel Pérez left the game in the fourth inning because of left abdominal tightness. He’ll be evaluated today.

The Brewers won their fourth straight game last night, pounding the Reds 8-3. All of Milwaukee’s runs came in the first three innings, with help from homers by Willy Adames and Brice Turang. Aaron Civale pitched into the seventh, and was charged with two runs.

The Brewers host the Reds again this evening. Tobias Myers will start against Nick Martinez.

NFL

The Packers open their exhibition campaign this afternoon at Cleveland.
