With the second-worst record in the league, Detroit will have a 14 percent chance of landing the first selection in the upcoming draft, and is guaranteed to pick no lower than sixth.
Former Piston Ben Wallace has been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Wallace was a four-time all-star, and four-time Defensive Player of the Year. He is the first undrafted player to be named to the Hall. Former U of M standout and Detroit Piston Chris Webber will also join the Hall, along with NBA players Paul Pierce, Chris Bosh and Toni Kukoc, who was selected by the International Committee. WNBA stars Yolanda Griffith and Lauren Jackson were selected, along with coaches Rick Adelman, Jay Wright and Bill Russell. Russell is already in the Hall for his accomplishments as a player.
