MLB – Tigers Sink to Last Place
Miguel Cabrera’s three hits and three RBI weren’t enough, as the Detroit Tigers fell to the Los Angeles Angels 8-7 last night. A few days after pitching a one-hit gem, Detroit starter Alfredo Simon gave up four runs in the first inning. He left in the fifth, and was charged with all eight L-A runs. He gave up nine hits, four walks, three wild pitches and hit a batter. The Tigers tried to come back, but couldn’t capitalize on scoring opportunities in the seventh and eighth innings. The loss dropped Detroit into a tie for last place in the American League Central Division. Game details are here.
