Tigers Come Back to Dump Twins – Friday Sports Wrap

The Tigers came from behind to earn an 8-4 victory over the Twins last night. Matthew Boyd gave up four runs in the second inning, but settled down and completed six frames to get the win. Detroit took the lead in the fifth inning, after Javier Báez tripled home two runs, then scored on an Eric Haase groundout.

The Tigers visit the Twins again tonight. Coverage will begin at 7:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers had yesterday off, and host the Pirates tonight. Julio Teheran will pitch against Rich Hill.

The Thatcher Markham Memorial 5k run and walk begins tonight at 7:00 at the west edge of downtown Hancock, in advance of the Bridgefest parade. Online sign-up has closed, but last-minute registration will be open beginning at 4:00 at the starting line, with a cost of $35.00. Only cash or checks will be accepted. The run honors 12-year-old Thatcher Markham, who died during the 2018 Father’s Day Flood. Proceeds support the Copper Country Junior Hockey Association and the Pigs N Heat fund.
