Alfredo Simon worked five shutout innings, as the Detroit Tigers blasted the Cleveland Indians 8-1 yesterday. Simon left the game with a 2-0 lead because of a rain delay. Cleveland’s only run came when Brandon Moss homered off Joakim Soria in the ninth.
