Kyle Lobstein struggled, as the Detroit Tigers lost to the Minnesota Twins 6-2 last night. Lobstein gave up a run in the first, and was chased in the third inning after surrendering five more. That series wraps up in Detroit this afternoon. Anibal Sanchez will start against Mike Pelfrey. Hear the first pitch at 1:08 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

Martinez

Tigers’ outfielder J.D. Martinez left last night’s game in the sixth inning with tightness in his back. He’ll be evaluated today. Detroit catcher Alex Avila has decided to hold off on knee surgery. Avila was originally diagnosed as having a “loose body” in the joint, but subsequent evaluations have suggested that may not be the case. He’ll try a rehab program, instead.

The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the White Sox 4-2 last night. Avisail Garcia and Adam LaRoche hit back-to-back homers off Jimmy Nelson in the first inning, and Chicago starter Jose Quintana struck out 10.
