Tigers, Brewers Fall – Sunday Sports Wrap

The Detroit Tigers fell to the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2 in 10 innings Saturday. The game was scoreless until Toronto broke through with a run in the sixth. They added another in the seventh – both off Tyler Alexander. The Tigers tied it in the bottom of the seventh. In the top of the 10th, Corey Dickerson’s single off Kyle Funkhauser drove home designated runner Vladimir Guerrero. Detroit went down in order in the bottom of the 10th.

The Tigers host the Blue Jays again this afternoon. Matthew Boyd returns from the injured list to start against José Berríos. Coverage will begin at 12:50 on 99.3 The Lift.

To make room for Boyd, outfielder Daz Cameron was sent down to Toledo. Reliever Ian Krol was also designated for assignment. Reliever Erasmo Ramirez, who had been designated for assignment Friday, was released.

The Milwaukee Brewers dropped their third straight game Saturday, 6-4 to the Minnesota Twins. Minnesota opened the scoring with four runs off Adrian Houser in the fourth inning. The Crew tied the contest in the top of the fifth. The Twins scored the game-winner in the sixth, and added an insurance tally in the seventh.

The Brewers conclude that interleague series at Minnesota this afternoon. Aaron Ashby will pitch against Griffin Jax.

NFL

The Green Bay Packers wrapped up a winless exhibition season with a 19-0 loss to the Indianapolis Colts Saturday. With Aaron Rodgers and most of the projected starters on the bench, Jordan Love completed 12 of 18 passes. He was intercepted once.

The Packers open their regular season with a Thursday night game, September 12th, at New Orleans.
