MLB
Francisco Liriano flirted with a no-hitter, but the Detroit Tigers eventually lost to the Seattle Mariners 3-2 in 11 innings yesterday. Liriano took his no-hitter into the seventh, and wound up allowing just one hit over eight shutout innings. Detroit led at that point, thanks to a two-run John Hicks homer in the first inning. But, closer Shane Greene surrendered a two-run shot to Mitch Haniger in the bottom of the ninth, and Jean Segura’s RBI single off Buck Farmer in the bottom of the 11th won the game for Seattle.

The Tigers have dropped three in a row, and visit the Minnesota Twins tonight. With Jordan Zimmermann still on the disabled list, Blaine Hardy will start for Detroit against Jose Berrios. Pregame coverage will begin at 7:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Twins scored two runs in the eighth inning, and shaded the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1 yesterday. Jesús Aguilar homered for Milwaukee. Starter Junior Guerra gave up just one run, but struggled before leaving in the fifth inning. Reliever Taylor Williams walked the first batter in the bottom of the eighth. He took the loss, as Boone Logan allowed that run, and another, to score.

The Brewers entertain the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight. Chase Anderson  will return from the disabled list to pitch against Zack Greinke.

NHL
The expansion Vegas Golden Knights have reached the Stanley Cup final. Vegas defeated Winnipeg 2-1 yesterday, to win the Western Conference final 4-1. The Eastern Conference final continues tonight, when Tampa Bay skates at Washington. The Lightning lead that series 3-2.

NBA
In the NBA playoffs, Golden State smothered Houston 126-85 last night. The Warriors lead the Western Conference final 2-1. Boston tips off at Cleveland tonight. The Celtics lead the Eastern Conference final 2-1.
